This is a great idea.
I know Heath and Drake have these kinds of websites but I have never found
one for Ten Tec.
If you can get this going for Corsairs and Omni's it would be great.
I have both a Corsair II and Omni V.
I find the Corsair manual good and the Omni V is terrible.
I have called Ten Tec for service manuals for both my sets but they tell me
that no such thing exists.
I find that statement very hard to believe.
I think that it is no coincidence that the Corsair, which was one of the last
radio along with the Paragon to provide some service information, was also
one of the last radios that was not sold direct from the factory.
When they sold through AES the technicians at the stores had service
information.
When the radios started to be sold and serviced by the factory Ten Tec
started to say they had no service manuals.
Though Ten Tec gives a lot of information if you call them, calls cost money
and sending the radios to them to fix cost even more.
I can usually fix my own radios and prefer to do so because I think that more
damage is done via UPS then I could ever do to my own radio.
Most of the damage done through shipping can't be fixed because it is usually
a cracked case or faceplate.
Those are the first parts of a radio that run out and are no longer available.
If you are a collector you know how much that kind of damage can hurt you.
I would love a website with information on alignment replacement how to's etc.
If I can be of any help let me know.
I do not have any parts or rigs but if you can think of anything else I can
do let me know.
Also, don't forget to post the address of this website if you get it up.
