Hello George, Dave & Mike,
 
I've had my Orion for over a year now, and although for me the learning curve was pretty steep, I am well pleased with everything except, as George noted, the band scope is absolutely worthless. I also had an ICOM before, the 756 Pro, and I loved and used it's  band scope  just about all the time.  I wish Ten-Tec could come up with a fix for theirs as it (the band scope) was a really big disappointment for me.  If the IC-7800 weren't so expensive, I'd be seriously considering one.
