No comparison. The receiver is in a new class of its own due the rejection
and resistance to front end overload. My 10000MP and these other rigs doe
not hold their own against this rig. 73's Steve

Marty, How does the Orion stack up against the 756 Pro II? I have a 765
Pro II and also a Jupiter. The 756 is better in most regards than the
Jupiter.
Thanks,
Dave

Subject: [TenTec] New Orion

Hello to all the reflector members,

I just purchased a new Orion with the built in tuner. My main rig is
presently an Icom 756 Pro II. I have talked to a few hams that have listed
on Eham and they told me that they absolutely loved their radios..
especially the sensitivity and selectivity. They mentioned the positve point
and the negative things, but they said that TT is constantly working on
updates for the Orion. I am going to computer control it with N4PV's
software. I am visually impaired and that is how I run the Icom. I have a
text to speech unit and it tells me most of what I need to know about the
Icom. I am curious to hear from those that have had their radio for at least
4 months and can give me an honest evaluation of it. TT and others tell me
it is more selective than the Icom 7800 due to its use of multiple roofing
filters. I hope that everyone had a nice Fourth and has settled back into
their previous ways...Thankyou for the support.

Kind regards,
Marty, W3QK
