I side with those who, like me, consider this kind of rumor irresponsible,
unintelligent and unfounded. I am personally amazed that Ten Tec has survived
all of these years after most all of the other US Amateur Companies have long
since been pusing-up-daisies.
I remember a number of years ago hearing a rumor that R.L. Drake was going
to buy out Ten Tec. Before that it was either Kenwood or Yaseu, I don't
remember which.
Truth is, the management of Ten Tec has been wise enough to fare the economic
climate for over 30 years when many, many other Amateur companies went down
the tubes. I believe Ten Tec will be hear for many years to come and will
probably out live all of those misguided folks who start malicious rumors.
This reminds me of several individuals who bought Ten Tec gear, played with
it for a month, sent it back and received a full refund, only to go to eHam and
give the product a ZERO rating. Again, irresponsible and in this case
immature. I would LOVE to be able to buy a car, drive it for a month and give it back
for a full refund. GIVE ME A BREAK ! ! !
In the words of Mark Twain, "The rumors of my or in this case Ten Tec's death
have been greatly exaggerated."
