[TenTec] Any truth to the rumor?

I don't know what you were basing your assesment on. I am a manufacturing
consultant, and can assure you that the criteria you mention by themselves
are not diagnostic. While not flashy, the building is functional, and the
staffing appropriate for the market demand. Further what you didn't catch
(or perhaps chose not to mention) is the line for the amateur product is
segmented into individual product areas that are staffed in rotation.
Amateur product is being made, but not the same product all the time. Ten
Tec, like most manufacturers today, sees the benefit in not having large
inventories of unsold goods.
Ten Tec wisely doesn't have all their eggs in one basket. They manufacture
for several markets, and as such is less likely to suffer the fate this
thread predicts than if all they made were ham goods.
Until I see a news release from Ten Tec I will treat this subject as an
unsubstantiated rumor. It is irresponsable to spread such rumors, and I
wonder about the motive of the person who started it.
