Sorry I did not get back to you right away. My computer crashed sometime
late tuesday.
I could bring up windows 98 in the safe mode but when I brought it up in
the normal
mode, I had no cursor or mouse control. I did not want to loose any of the
old programs on the hard drive so I tried to reload windows 98 over the old
windows 98
on the hard disk. Lost two days of time in getting windows 98 reloaded
from a CD.
I was lucky this time in that I did not loose anything important on the
hard drive.
The only thing that changed was the position of some of the Icons on the
desk top,
but I can move them back to the way they were.
About the antenna tunner, I don't know the answer to that. I am not up
much on antennas. I am using a MFJ all band vertical and I have to string
up new Coax
to it as the coax that I had going to it was indoor type with a green
plastic
covering that did not hold up outside. Got 80 ft. of Rg14 A/U double
shielded
cable at the flee mkt. over the weekend with type C connectors on the ends.
You guessed it,
I had to make my own adapter by mating a type C to a PL259. If anyone is
interested
I can send them digital pictures from my camera as to how it can be done.
Rg14 A/U is somewhat thicker than Rg8 and I don't think I could get a PL259
on the end
with both shields. Anyway the mod I made keeps the double shield and
should work just great. Hope to get it strung up by the weekend.
Good luck on the test.
