Thanks for all kind answers I got regarding the issue. I have read
everything carefully and also read the reviews on eham.net and=20
found out that I will keep my Corsair II. I am seriously DX'ing, CW
only, on low bands and it seems to have an outstanding receiver.
Used to have modified C-lines, but the Corsair II is more quiet, old
C-lines have problems with corroded switches and tubesockets.

The things I don't like about the Corsair II are:

1 The frequency display does not show anything ''of interest''
when operating ''split'' with the remote VFO, just a lot of
unreadable figures in ''transmit''... Also when operating on
the same frequency the display is ''jumping'' in frequency.

2 If I want to go from 3505 KHz to 24895 KHz there is lot of
turning the VFO-knobs, Corsair II and remote VFO. Maybe
this could be fixed by using other crystals, so that all bands
      start just below lower bandedge!

3 In my opinion, maybe I'm too old, one have to turn the VFO's
very carefully when using 250 Hz filter, wish there were a=20
little more tuning range for one turn of the knob...

By the way, I have been on the air - only working DX - since 1962
and I have NEVER owned a Japanese tranceiver, however I'm
using a Yaesu linear amp, the FL2100z which isn't that good, if I
can find the money I will try to get an American made!!

You are wonderful friends all of you on this reflector, I wish you and
your families a HAPPY EASTERTIME, relax and don't eat too much,
why not turn on the TenTec YOU have and work some DX?
