Not in touch with the 340, but a few pro recivers at home, try using =
different speakers. One that sounds unusually good to me is a +/- 6 =
inches battery & mains supply unit from Heil Sound. Has volume and =
equalization potentiometers and to me is as good as I've allways =
expected on SSB audio reception.
Back to the unbeatable goodness of Omnis, V and VI, I use Inrad =
(fox-tango) 2,8 khz. filters for clean worm sound
 on HF SSB.
