Hello All,

I have just joined this list and happy to be aboard!

I have never really owned any Ten Tec gear but of late been thinking of
buying the Jupiter. However, eham reviews kinda scare me! I presently own
older Kenwood rigs like the 430, 830 and the 850. I am also into audio in a
small way and that is why the Jupiter with its DSP and the 900-3900 HZ TX
bandwidths interests me. Has anybody on this list actually had experience
with the Jupiter for LO FI (since I don't think 14.178 is really HI FI !)
applications ? How would it compare with an old 850 with or without a
DSP100? On the other hand, if the Jupiter overall is not as good as the 850,
I might stil end up being disappointed. On specs, the Jupiter should be far
ahead of the 850 though.  I realize te 850 was a rig built 10 years ago but
it still commands respect! If I am to buy a Jupiter, I need to sell the 850
and I wonder if I will regret it later! Or should I wait for the new Ten Tec
20W QRP with IF DSP?

If anyone's actually tried both the 850S and the Jupiter side by side, I
would LOVE to hear their comments.
