[TenTec] Getting rid of tobacco odors

Anyone have any ideas for removing tobacco odors?
       At a hamfest yesterday I acquired a Bencher paddle with its coiled 
cord to use on my new Jupiter. In about two minutes my shack was filled with 
tobacco odor from both the paddle, its cord, and the tiny box it had been 
stored in or a long time. I don't smoke and the smell kinda gets to me. 
       I tried dish soap and water and cleaned the base and paddle. Also 
washed the cord. Today it still smells. Tonight I tried vinegar and water in 
even proportions, soaking the cord (except ends) and rubbing with an old 
toothbrush. Still some smell from the cord.
       Any further suggestions I might try? Thanks in advance.
