[TenTec] Tuner with TT

Hi Bill,
I have been using the LDG AT-11MP tuner with my Paragon for almost 2 years now and has worked out quite well with a variety of antennas (all coax fed). It makes a loud buzzing/rattling sound from the relays when it tunes which is kind of irritating, but I guess you get used to it. (The first time I heard it, I thought something was going to smoke until I found that was normal hi hi) It is quite versatile and can be manually, semi auto or fully auto tuned, however, it does only have one memory which is held if the Power switch is moved to the Standby position. The memory is lost unless you maintain 12 volts to the tuner, however. But that hasn't been a consideration for me anyhow. It comes with a nice cross-needle meter, a good manual, and the internals looks good along with a nice cabinet. (Cabinet made by Ten Tec, of course).
As far as operation, I usually leave the tuner in Auto and let it do its thing if it wants to. But sometimes if it's on the borderline (it kicks in around/somewhat above 1.5:1) it will suddenly start trying to tune in the middle of a qso. If I don't want that to happen, I will set the tuner to Semi, press the Tune button on the Paragon, and then press the Tune button on the tuner. The tuner will tune and then when it is done, of course, I press the tune button again on the Paragon. I usually have the power down all the way when I do this (around 15-20 watts) so as not to stress anything needlessly. All of this generally takes a matter of seconds.
For the money, I think it's hard to beat.

Hi folks,
I am considering the purchase of an LDG auto tuner to use with my Paragon. Has anyone had experience with these tuners?
Thanks
