The meeting was called to order tonight at 19:45L

Reports

Minutes were read by Fred N5WLA and approved
unanimously.

Treasury report was read by CJ, final balance is at
3078.55.  Approved unanimously.

Old Business

Balloon launch was discussed.  Tom KE5EIC has the
weather payload and will bring it to the next meeting.
The club approved the purchase by KB5YLG of two
weather balloons under $40, and to invite Charlie Lake
KB0NEC to share his knowledge on NWS balloon
experiences.  The balloon committe will meet on
Tuesday June 13 at 7pm at qth kb5ylg.  820 Wood Lane,
Azle.

New Business

N5WLA will post the July meeting date once he confirms
it with the president N5GMJ, who was conspicuously
absent tonight.  :)

Paul WB5IDM facilitated a discussion on tower safety,
observing an increase in tower accident fatalities so
far in 2006, and encouraging best practices and
attention to safety.

N5WLA facilitated a discussion on Field Day and the
following assignments were drafted.  Any changes
should be brought up ASAP on the reflector.
-Unanimously authorized KB5YLG to spend up to $150 for
a tethered type balloon for an antenna experiment
during field day.
-K5ANR will be responsible for preparing a post-event
press release and photography, plus bringing a qro
station and a qrp station (qrp to operate off Paul's
solar panel).
-KB5YLG will bring the information booth, plus an hf
station, plus an APRS demo station, plus handle NTS
traffic, plus invite the Mayor and City Council to
observe.
-N5WLA will prepare a pre-event press release, and
will invite the Azle Fire Chief to attend, and will
bring a 20M wire beam for testing.
-WB5IDM will invite the scouts, bring a solar panel,
generator and the club trailer.
-K5PSB (absent) will bring an hf station and hf
digital capability.
-N0JY (absent) will bring a satellite and vhf station
WA5PWA will bring a 160M type wire  antenna.
