Bob,
For 6m SSB 50.125 usb is a good one.
I you listen to that and call every now and then you may get a
response if the band is really open. A horizontal loop or yagi
will make a difference since most SSB operations or using horizontal
polarization. Granted my first 6m contact was using a 1/2 vertical with
10 watts to NW Colorado. The multi hop route allowed for the
differences in polarization to work.

6m is a fun band to work. It takes patience, but when it is open...
Look Out because it gets real busy and loads of fun.

Jon

Hi fellows:

I live in Parker County outside of Springtown near
Jackie's house.

Does anyone know what would be the best beacon, repeater,
simplex calling freq, ect for me to monitor for band
openings on 6 Meters for our specific area?

I have been through the usual routes of internet and other
reference resources and have found allot of information on
6 meters from a general standpoint.

The one thing that I have not been able to find out
however is exactly which of the frequencies (beacon,
repeater, simplex calling freq) is best to monitor for
openings in our particular area in North Texas.

Thanks
BOB N5IET
