During last night's TCARC meeting, we discussed the impacts that
deployment of Broadband over Power Lines (BPL) could have on the Amateur
radio spectrum. The ARRL is encouraging all ham operators to contact
their representatives in Congress regarding our concerns over BPL. The
link below will take you to the ARRL website that contains info on BPL,
the reasons BPL is harmful to our hobby, and draft letters to send to
our congressmen. These links are on the right side of the web page in a
yellow box. Please take a few minutes to make your voice heard. Copy
the draft letter into a text editor, insert your name, etc., print it
out and mail it off. If we let our reps in Washington know what the
dangers are, maybe we can slow the deployment of BPL until it can be
shown that it won't interfere with our frequencies. If we don't voice
our concerns, the outcome is certain.
