I too would like to pass along my thanks. Thank you for living out one of our
values....community. I am not sure who was blessed more by this event, the
people who have special needs and were able to live out a dream, or you the
team that provided the service to them.

Subject: A Special Thank You
All,
Our fourth annual sponsorship of the Special Olympics cycling event was once
again a huge success. The wonderful turnout of over 100 BNSF volunteers is
clearly evidence of the community spirit of TEAM BNSF. We are grateful to
each and every person who have given their time to us over the course of these
four years.
There are just too many people to thank, we know we will miss someone, but
just-the-same would like to recognize so many of those that stepped up. Our
core of volunteers have just gotten better by the year and as we are able to
encourage fresh volunteers we are comfortable that we have an event that will
sustain.
The Ft Worth Campus Diversity Council would like to take this opportunity to
offer our special appreciation and gratitude to:
MATT ROSE and THE BNSF CORPORATE LEADERSHIP TEAM - For allowing the use of the
BNSF campus as a venue to hold this event. Clearly, to a person, the Special
Olympics parents and organizers assure us this is the finest venue for any
cycling event they have ever held. Our campus is a wonderful showcase.
TOM HUND, JOHN LANIGAN, PETE RICKERSHAUSER, JIM GALLEGOS, MILTON SIEGELE, MIKE
ARITA, JOHN GRUNDMAN, and all the other executives who sponsored and supported
us this year.
LINDA RICHIE and TOM BAILEY of facilities. We would never be able to pull
this event off without their assistance.
JERRY BUXTON who again this year brought along his Ham Radio club. They are a
truly valuable communication resource and emergency life-line.
LYDIA ROMERO and RANDY ACOSTA for soliciting sponsors and assisting with
coordination of this event and for ensuring that we all got our event
t-shirts.
NADINE GRANDI, RANDY ACOSTA, BETTY KIRKSEY, DEBBY ALLISON and KIMBERLY ROSS,
all diversity council members who stepped up and took lead volunteer roles.
DIANE SCOTT, her children Adam and Michelle, DEB SIEGELE, ART HERNANDEZ and
TOM CHMIELOWSKI for handling the hot-dog feed.
SUZANNE SANCHEZ for coming in and once again providing photo badges for all
the Special Olympics athletes.
DENA WILDS, RICK RICHARDSON, JERRY LONG and ALLISON HILES for stepping up and
taking lead roles coordinating the starting line.
KELLY PHILLIPS and JOE FAUST for providing us with photographs.
And a very special Thank You to MICHELLE MEISENHALDER this year's recipient of
our "Most Inspirational Volunteer" award. Michelle captured the enthusiasm,
essence and spirit of the Special Olympics experience.
We learn a little each year and want to make every effort to improve the
quality of the event. In that regard we welcome all suggestions concerning
improvements that can be made. Please forward any suggestions to Bill Lytle.
Thanks again everyone for your continued support of the Special Olympics
event. We look forward to seeing you and your families out with us again next
year.
