I wish I could take part in the event, but I have to work Saturday. Even, so it's inspirational seeing those kids doing their best on those bicycles. My son and I have made a two or three of those Special Olympics, I just sorry I can't make this one. Joel KD5GPK

Railway Headquarters. The location is on Western Center Boulevard in
northwest Fort Worth. From I-35W, take Western Center west about 3/4 mile and
turn right into the second entrance to BNSF (the one past the stoplight).
>From FM156 (aka Blue Mound Road) turn onto Western Center and go about 3/4
mile, turn left into the entrance to BNSF. You drive in about 200 yards to
where the road is blocked off, and turn right into the parking garage. You
will need to lower or remove your antennas to get inside!

All hams should be on hand at 08:00 with a charged HT, we can use low power.
I will distribute special t-shirts that we must wear to easily identify us to
the officials and participants. Bring some water, a chair, and snacks. Lunch
will be served. I expect that we should be done around 15:00. If you like
you can stay on for the awards ceremony after the races.

We will use the club simplex frequency 147.420 MHz, with a possible alternate
of 147.520 MHz for a couple of us during one particular race (if necessary).

I will provide maps at the event, we need hams posted with the starter,
paramedic, at the turn around point, at an intersection, and near the credit
union. If we have more than the 5 members who have signed up, we can use you
to give better coverage.

Talk in on the simplex frequency when you get close, if you need directions.

Club members who have signed up are:

Jerry
Shura
Fred
Matt
Jim

All others are welcome and we can sure use you if you come!

Email me at [email protected] or call me at work at (817)867-1337 if you need
more information before the event.

Thank you to everyone who signed up, and a special thanks from the special
kids who are so looking forward to the event!

73,
Jerry
