The October meeting of the Tri-County Amateur Radio Club was held at Ash
Creek Baptist Church in Azle Texas on Saturday October 4, 2003.
President Fred Muehlen (N5WLA) called the meeting to order at 1922
hours.

Minutes from the September meeting were read by Secretary Christy Brewer
(KD5SPV). Thomas KD5UEP made a motion to accept the minutes as read.

David (KB5YLG) read the treasurer=92s report in C. J.=92s absence. The
previous balance was $2,405.04, with deposits of $13.00 (Pass the Hat),
$24.00 (Dues), and $0.48 (Interest), which brings the new total to
$2,442.52. Mark (K5PSB) made a motion to approve the treasury report as
read. Terry (KJ5ZR) seconded.

President=92s Report: =20
Fred has updated the information on the ARRL Site. There is a
requirement that for a club to be an
ARRL member, 51% of its membership must also be ARRL members. Our club
is very close to=20
the 51%, so we need to consider joining ARRL if not already a member.

We need to look for ways to attract new member.

There will be a survey on the reflector for what benefits members want
from our club.

It was suggested we get with Paul (WB5IDM) to set up a tour of the
repeater.

Contesting-There is a group in Dallas looking for people to help man
their stations and help=20
With logging contacts.

Belton was today. Chris (N5GMJ) went and said there was a good turnout.

Hardin=92s Sidewalk Sale is Saturday 10/11/2003.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

NCTECH is 11/08/2003. There was a net last Saturday, but there was only
one check-in. Mark=20
is in charge of the Special Events Station (hopefully NTSS and MARS).
We will need help with the initial set up. Thomas is in charge of
vendors. If anyone knows of any vendors let him know. Thomas has set
up forms to send to the vendors. There will be no extra charge for
Tailgaters. We will use the Thursday NETS to discuss NCTECH. Jim
KD5VXH gave flyers to W5YI in Arlington to announce at their club
meeting as well as the Irving Amateur Radio Club.

Azle Jamboree: Made several contacts. Learned what needs to be done
for next year. Need to=20
find the banner.

EOC: Waiting on the remodeling of the room. =20

Field Day: When NCTECH is over, we=92ll start brainstorming for Field
Day.

NEW BUSINESS:

Fred inquired as to whether or not we have a Constitution.
David stated we do. He stated that=20
several years ago the club looked at Incorporating for
liability purposes, but never created an=20
Articles of Incorporation.

Thomas will contact non-participating members this week.

Mark made a motion to adjourn. Terry seconded. The meeting adjourned
