It's Coming!

The 2003 North Texas APRS Workshop.

And YOU can be involved!

Are you an experienced APRS operator? Do you have a cool APRS mobile or
portable station that you'd like to show off? Do you want to help
promote the use of APRS for public service or just plain fun? Well
you're invited to get involved with the first North Texas APRS Workshop.
This event is currently in the planning stages and we are looking for
some clubs or individual Hams to help make this a worthwhile fun and
informative event.

We are putting together an APRS workshop in the D/FW area. The date has
been tentatively set for Saturday, September 6. The location has not
been fixed at this time. We are planning on a 9 hour event with 3
discussion tracks (hardware, software and operating practice) and an
open workshop. We are looking for volunteers to form the steering
committee and work the various functions.

A proposal in MS Word format containing more detail on this event is
available on the web at www.redsword.com/jbeadles/radio/. If you are
interested in volunteering or just attending, please notify the event
coordinator, John Beadles, N5OOM at [email protected] or call 972-685-8713.
You do not have to be a technical expert to work this event!!!

This should be a great opportunity for ARRL NTX Section Affiliated Clubs
to get together and help to make this a successful event. Spread the
word to a fellow club member and help us get volunteers to plan and work
the ARPS Workshop.

Roy Rabey - AD5KZ
