The November meeting of the Tri-County Amateur Radio Club was held at
Checker=92s Pizza in Springtown on Saturday November 1, 2003. Fred
(N5WLA) called the meeting to order at 1905 hours..

The minutes from the October meeting were read. Tom (KD5UEP), moved we
accept the minutes as read. Mark K5PSB seconded. =20

The treasurer=92s report was read. We had .53 cents interest, which
brought our total to $2,443.05. Shura moved we accept the treasury
report. Dan (KD5USO) seconded.

PRESIDENT=92S REPORT

Fred thanked everyone for responding to the survey. There was
discussion reference the survey, as well as the results. Fred stated he
hopes to have more on the reflector so that we can get more ideas.

NCTECH 11/08/2003 from 0700-1200 in Azle
Roy Raby will do an IRLP presentation
John Beetle will give an APRS presentation
W5OMG will give an NTS presentation

Cara Reynolds (KD5FMP) addressed the club reference sponsoring her for
the Miss Teen Texas Pageant. She stated she was selected to represent
Wise County and was chosen because she is a ham. Paul ( ) moved we give
the pass the hat money to Cara. Jerry (N0JY) seconded, and the motion
passed.

David (KB5YLG) moved that the club sponsor Cara with an additional
$50.00. Tom seconded. The motion passed.

NCTECH

There was extensive discussion reference NCTECH.

Fred advised the members that the website is outdated and hard to
maintain, and would like to move it to one of Dave=92s servers and let =
him
maintain it and update it regularly.

David said it would be easier for the site to be udated and would help
with less duplicatgion and items such as the minutes could be put on the
site and it would instantly send it to the reflector.

We are now using QSL and they are looking at changing their fee schedule
and there have also been numerous down times, as well as the fact that
their support is not very good.

Jerry moved to have the website and the reflector moved to Dave=92s
server. Dan (KD5USO) seconded.

NEW BUSINESS

Jerry advised the members that in the past the club has helped with the
horse and buggy race in Cottondale. He stated it is in March. He
advised that there is also a 50 mile run on the same day in Decatur at
the LBJ Grasslands. He wants to know if we will be able to handle both
events. He stated we would need a total of 20 people. 10 for each
event. It was discussed that we could get assistance from other clubs.
The next meeting we will get an idea of how many volunteers we can get.

Thomas has sent out 22 letters to inactive members and got 2 back with
bad addresses.

There will be no NET on Thanksgiving.
