Hello All,
The May TCARC meeting was held May 4 at Checker's Italian Restaurant in
Springtown, as the meeting room at El Paseo was not available (surprise). We
followed the usual itinerary with about an hour for dinner and about a 1 hour
meeting. I chaired the meeting at the request of C.J.
We had 8 members in attendance including officer VP/Treasurer C.J., plus Alan
Niggemeyer's brother.
Items discussed:
Treasury - C.J. will contact the Azle Bank and I will make arrangements to
stop by the bank and withdraw the funds from that savings account for C.J. to
transfer to the Club's new checking account as we believe that I am still
shown as a signatory for the savings account.
Azle Lake Run is Saturday May 18, gather at 0700 at the school. Contact Paul
WB5IDM for more details or to sign up if you haven't already. Also, meet for
breakfast at 0600 that day at Southern Belle Restaurant on Main Street in
Azle.
Field Day - the members voted to hold field day this year at the Shady Grove
Park, pending approval by the city of Azle. We ask that David KB5YLG please
contact the city to let them know. Paul will provide the generator again, and
try to have his 70 foot crank up tower ready. Paul is also considering
setting up an IRLP link at the field day site, for visitors. Paul will
contact Azle News, Springtown Epigraph and Weatherford Democrat for advance
publicity. I will contact Wise County Messenger and Fort Worth Star-Telegram
with the same. We hope to have Julie Thibodeaux, the reporter who did our
article for the Neighborhoods Up Close, at Field Day for publicity including
the EOC. All other members are encouraged to contact other local newspapers
and radio stations for advance publicity. For a PR template, see
http://www.arrl.org/contests/forms/01fdpack.pdf
page 19 has a template that you can use, fill in the date, contact info and
club info.
There was some general discussion about NCTECH for this year.
Alan Niggemeyer KD5KGU volunteered be net control for the month, utilizing his
new power supply for the HT. Thanks, Alan!
The members voted to have the June meeting again at Checker's Italian
Restaurant in Springtown. Checker's is located on FM51 about 1 block north of
199 in Springtown, on the west side of the town square. The meeting is
upstairs in the loft area.
That's all for now, see you at the June meeting or on the air!
73,
Jerry
