By request, I just retyped this from memory...it's just a guideline, modify
it as you see useful:

------------------

Have paper and pen to jot down net attendees and highlights. Send a copy of
your net notes out by e-mail to [email protected] so that those who
miss the net can keep up with the information.

Give a 2 minute warning that the net will be coming up, so radio amateurs
may wrap up any business, or get their pencils ready or whatever.

Preamble:

"This is (your callsign and your name), and I will be your net control
operator for this session of the Tri-County Amateur Radio Club Ragchew and
Information net. This net is regularly scheduled Thursday evenings on the
WB5IDM repeater on 147.16MHz, with an input frequency of 147.76MHz, and
CTCSS tone of 110.9.
I'll pause for any emergency or priority traffic at this time."

(pause...handle any emergency or priority traffic)

"This net is a directed net, so please direct your traffic first to the net
control operator. Check in with your callsign, and wait for net controller
to call for your traffic. This net is open to all radio amateurs licensed
to operate on this frequency. This net welcomes announcements, technical
talk, coordination of events, and strictly amateur radio related items for
swap listings."

"Again, this is (your callsign and your name) with the Tri-County Amateur
Radio Club ragchew and Information Net. Anyone wishing to check in please
come with your callsign now."

(take check-ins, write them down, call on each in an orderly fashion for
their traffic for the net)

(every few minutes give your callsign and that this is the Tri-County ARC
net, but any amateur radio operator is invited to check in)

(When all check in and recheck traffic is handled close the net as follows)

"Okay, thanks to everyone who participated in the net tonight.
Acknowledgment to WB5IDM for permission to use the repeater for the net.
Again, this net meets on this frequency every Thursday at 8pm local time.
This is (your callsign and your name) closing the net, and returning the
frequency to normal amateur use.
