Meeting called to order by Daryl.

Welcomed visitor Jim KC5VDJ.

Daryl encouraged signups for net control.

There were no minutes from the June meeting available.

Treasurer's report:
Collected $16 from pass the hat and $12 in dues at June meeting.
Current balance $3215.85.
Terry motioned to accept the report.  Shura seconded.  Passed.

Daryl said he would work on finding a presentation for the August meeting.

Daryl received an email from QTH.NET (host of our email reflector and web
page) requesting donations.  Cindy motioned to donate $100.  Denise seconded. 
Passed.

Daryl had business cards made advertising the club, passed them out to members
for distribution.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Terry knows a prospective ham named Brian who would like to take an exam and
is looking for a used 2 meter rig.

Daryl announced the upcoming Sherman hamfest July 20, 2002 at the Grayson
County Airport and that there was activity on the reflector looking for a
speaker for the Rotary Club in Fort Worth.

FIELD DAY
Membership expressed that fun was had by all.
There were 2 or 3 young (new) hams participating.
Terry is still working up the logs and score.
Shura was a the mic trying to contact the ISS on the satellite station.
Public participation was about the "usual" level.
Discussion took place regarding PR, including personal contact and mass media
publicity.
Paul asked whether visitor turnout was better than the years that Field Day
was held at the RV park.  Answer was yes.
Other sites for the event were discussed, Springtown town square and
Springtown park.
Paul has a copy of the Azle newspaper with a post-Field Day article about the
club.  David may scan the article to post on the club web site.

A discussion ensued regarding club publicity.
Suggestion was made to give response cards to Radio Shack so that prospective
hams and interested parties can return it to the club for more information.  A
suggestion was made to make a "new ham" packet for distribution after exam
sessions.  Also a suggestion to send a card announcing the club to new hams in
the area as derived from the FCC license database.

OLD BUSINESS
Jim said that NCTECH could be held at the Emanuel building at Azle Police/Fire
station for $75 deposit, refunded if the location is left clean.
Jerry made a motion for Jim to check out the availability of the Clark
building in addition to the Emanuel building and to hold NCTECH at this Azle
location.  David seconded.
David made a motion to hold NCTECH at the Azle Emanuel location regardless of
whether Clark building is available in addition.  Shura seconded.
Jerry withdrew his motion.  David's motion passed.
A discussion was held about table availability at the NCTECH site.  Paul will
check tables available at these buildings.
David volunteered to do vendor contacts.
A formal NCTECH committee was formed consisting of David, Daryl, Jim, visitor
Jim, Paul, and Jerry.
It was discussed and decided that no Skywarn class would be offered this year.

NEW BUSINESS
The club liability insurance is up for renewal, cost $325.00.
Cindy motioned to pay the premium, Joe seconded.  Passed.
Topic of reimbursing individuals who donated propane for use at Field Day. 
David motioned to reimburse those who show a receipt.  Jim seconded.  Passed.
David wants to get a cost estimate from Keith KD5IPL for another sign on the
back side of the club trailer, and to send in the club PK232 for an upgrade. 
David motioned to authorize up to $300.00 for the new sign, Roy seconded. 
Passed.  David motioned to authorize about $250.00 for the upgrade to the
PK232, Roy seconded.  Passed.

The hat was passed.

Terry motioned to adjourn, Roy seconded.  Passed.
