Alan, there are three free ways to try this...
1) Just listen for them on your scanner...iffy, but can be done.
2) Download free software and keplerian elements, and calculate the pass
predictions on your own PC...this is somewhat involved as you learn the new
software and learn how/where to download keps and keeping your kep database
up-to-date. However it has the convenience of having it on your own PC,
which is available even when internet resources aren't, such as in the field
as in for Field Day.
3) Online resources such as http://www.bester.com/satpasses.html can help
you prepare for the passes.

I'm posting this to the reflector so others who might be interested may use
them.

Generally, most if not all Amateur Radio satellites are NOT geosynchronously
orbital...which basically means they are not in a static location relative
to us, but instead pass by us on intervals. For this reason, charts aren't
available, and pass predictions must be made based on the location and
timeframe. A satellite passing at 2pm today will likely not be passing at
2pm tomorrow, but at some other time. You basically have to recalculate the
pass using a lot of variables, so software or internet calculators are the
way to do this best.

Subject: ISS and Satelite position charts

Where can I look to
find the times and positions of satelites and the ISS
to communicate from our area? I looked on AMSAT but
didn't see what I was looking for, or didn't recognize
what I was looking for.

Again, thanks for the help.

Alan
