Subject: [TxHam] Stolen ham radio RETURNED because of aggressive work by
Dallas Police

Because of some aggressive work by Dallas Police, my stolen radio was
returned,
at least in part, along with some other items.

There is no longer a reason to be concerned about the wrongful use of this
radio on voice or packet.

I am advised that because the suspect (caught red handed) was on parole from
the Penitentiary, and had certain other Felony convictions, he will now be
headed back to the Pen for life. Today he resides at the Dallas County
Jail.

I appreciate the messages I have received from amateurs about this.

A personal political statement: Why was this convicted felon released on
parole? It's because the wrong people were appointed to the parole board.
(It
takes just a little foresight to serve on this board.) These appointments
were made because because the wrong people were elected Governor of this
state.
The previous Governor promised that with the addition of some new
Penitentiary
facilities, "If you commit a crime in Texas we have a place to lock you up."
She lost the election and it seems her two successors did not carry out her
platform. I want to see a change in the office of Governor in November,
2002.

This will be the second time someone was sent to the Pen for stealing a ham
radio (among other items) from my car.
