Here are some directions to the BNSF headquarters for the Special Olympics
event April 27. Please plan to arrive by 0715 to pick up your special t-shirt
and deploy for the start of the races at 0800.
BNSF campus is on Western Center, between I-35W and FM 156.
>From Azle and the highway 199 area, take 199 east to 820. Take 820 north to
FM 156 (Blue Mound) and exit, turn left or north on 156. Go about 2 miles to
Western Center and turn right. Western Center is right at where the road
narrows to two lanes. The campus entrance is about 1/2 miles east of 156.
>From I-35W, exit at Western Center and go west on Western Center a little over
a mile to the entrance.
There are two entrances to the campus, we will be at the west-most, which is
the first you come to going east on Western Center or the second going west.
You can park in the parking garage. Watch your antennas when you head in the
garage!
We can talk in on the Azle repeater 147.16- 110.9pl if you need further help
finding the place.
Remember to bring your HT and a spare battery. We can work on low power, the
course is only about 1/2 mile long, so one battery ought to work the whole
event but it never hurts to be prepared in case you do a lot of transmitting.
Any questions? I'll try to make the net Thursday night, or please email me
right away. We're counting on all 9 volunteers, so if you can't make it for
some reason I need to know right away!
Thanks,
Jerry
