April Showers!

The Lyrids meteor showers were first recorded by
Chinese astromoners in 687 B.C., and they're back once
again to light up the skies. The meteors will be
visible from April 19-25, and will peak on the morning
of April 22. As the moon will not be setting until
early morning, the best viewing should take place in
the hours just before dawn. Look to the northeast and
you can expect to see between 10 and 15 meteors per
hour.
5 Planets in Plain Sight:
The Cosmic Cluster

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will all be
visible in the same part of the sky by late April.
Though it won't be an actual alignment, this rare
clustering of the planets may not happen again for
another century. The planets should be visible to the
naked eye by April 20, and they will be closest to one
another on May 4.
