I may not be able to make it into town this evening, I'm under a flash flood watch. In fact, Sunday may not be feasible if the road gets washed out badly enough. This happens every time there is more than an insignificant amount of rains on the west side of the Magdalena mountains and Chupadera hills. The watershed funnels into an arroyo that has been redirected to the area where I live.

Good news and bad news with the electronic
site on West Peak
After my 4th time talking with the
school and ISD, we got full permission
to put our radio stuff up on the
mountain! We get about 3 feet of 19 inch
rack space, and ability to mount
antennas outside on the nice H-Frame!
However, due to AT&T construction,
if we do not get it up by this Monday,
we have to wait 2 months for AT&T
to finish! They are just starting work up
there. And everyone knows how
construction works ... 2 months may turn into
3 and then turn into 6 .... Sort of an
annoying rule, but I guess they are
digging trenches, putting up towers,
and the road may not be accessible to
the top. Besides, they are paying
customers...
Yes that is This Monday, the 24th when
they are starting construction!
I'll be there slightly after 7 and we
will work the repeater and see what
we can jerry rig together for this
weekend. Maybe we can try to get
permission to go up another weekend if
AT&T hasn't done too much damage up
there.
See you 7pm at the sac/campus
police room 212 upstairs
Skyler
