[TARA] DMR, DSTAR, Mesh Networking

Good morning,

Tonights Radio Meeting will be experimenting with a DMR / DSTAR repeater
(Narrowband Digital Voice over UHF).

7PM @ the SAC room 212 (Campus police building upstairs South wing next to
KTEK). Let me know if you need more instructions finding it

DMR stands for Digital Mobile Radio and is an "open" standard for digital
voice communications used almost entirely in Europe and growing rapidly in
the United States along with Project 25. Motorola has developed products
using this standard under the name MOTOTRBO but today we will be playing
with a home brew implementation of a repeater. DSTAR stands for Digital
Smart Technologies for Amateur Radio.


Bill might bring in some Mesh Networking equipment to finish off what we
looked at last week so might have a look at that too.
