My amateur radio friends,
Hank, K8DD, went into the hospital (Lapeer) last week for surgery to
repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm. The surgery went as planned and he
was recovering nicely but he developed pneumonia. The pneumonia has
steadily worsened and Hank has gone from being treated with supplemental
oxygen, antibiotics and steroids to being sedated and put on a
respirator. It will take roughly a week to see if the current course of
therapy is working as hoped. I was up there to see him today and he
groggily awoke for a short while and tried to communicate with me using
hand gestures that I couldn't understand. I told him to squeeze my hand
in morse code and he sent the letters GO two times, he's still stubborn
and doesn't want us worrying about him. ;-) Needless to say he's in
rough shape and in very dangerous territory, so please keep him in your
prayers.
73,
Ian - K8MM
