I had a great time and can't wait for next year. As an experiment, I
installed the Elecraft K3 for mobile operation and was blown away by the
performance and its ease of use as a mobile. The antenna used was the HI-Q
4/80 with a capacitance hat and 3' whip. I used the MicroKeyer II interface
and N1MM contest logging which worked flawlessly. No lock ups or re-boots
needed for the entire 12 hours of operation. Next time I will use "Rover"
mode to avoid the issue of "dupes" when I work a fixed station in subsequent
counties on the route. Or, perhaps create a separate log for each county to
avoid the scoring problems that result from the false dupes.
