The "urban legend" story had him running cables around his electric
meter to get free power to power the rig....and of his street light
dimming whenever he keyed up.
I remember tons of stories about guys running 5-6 KW on 75 meters way
back when....I wonder how true these stories were.... I can't even get
the old watt meter above 1100 watts!

Yow! Do you remember K8HIR who lived in the Detroit area? Supposedly he
ran 18 Kw....I had a friend of mine who was one of the ops there in some
multi-singles. K8HIR ran some modest 3 el beams up around 80' or
so...and had a pair of phased Hy-Towers on 75. Supposedly some ZD7 told
K8HIR that .."...You are the loudest signal on 75 meters that I have
ever heard on ANY band". Of this urban legends are made!
Nope...only running LK500's here....

Hi, Greg:
Is it true you were testing a new amplifier when that house in
Saginaw blew up?
