Ahh....that wonderful polar flutter! I remember that was one of the reasons
I wanted a suffix with only dahs! I didn't get on the air as I was up north
fishing on Houghton lake...wow was it a cold one!
It sure would be nice to squeeze a real FP call out of the French
PTT...although I'm sure the chances would be slim.
So who is ready to go back to Miquelon?
Ian

Hello:
I don't know who all the competitors were at TO9A, Martinique, in ARRL
DX Competition over the week end, but QSLs go to K3DEJ. One could check with
him about the steps for obtaining a special call from the French PTT. Maybe
Americans can get one from the French after all.
I am sensitive to the argument that a TO call on FP might lead to
uncertainty. But it's a more efficient call for a contest that FP/somebody.
If ample word were out in advance of the contest, confusion should be
minimized.
I put in a little time over the week end on low power. More than ever
before the "I" in my call got lost going over the pole. Wish I could get W8Q
as a permanent call. 73,
Kurt W8IQ
