Yes, in fact we used one on Saipan to good effect.  However: there, 
we had a vertical support at hand that we could press into 
service.  It wasn't Ideal as far as running the antenna vertically, 
but on top of a 13 story hotel, it played... we worked clear back to 
the east coast on 160 with it.  There was substantial fiddling to get 
the match right, because of adjacent structures, and the angle to the roof.

I think it's a toss up in your case. You can either bring the 
Aluminum BC special, or a wire version and an aluminum mast to hold 
it up with.  No real advantage there...  Keep in mind the vertical 
part of the aluminum model is about 44' tall.
