This should have gone on the reflector.
No one filled out the "what I have to take along" spreadsheet, so I
figure there will be a lot of redundancy!
Ted is taking tools
I am taking tools
I have a soldering pencil and a soldering gun and solder.
Is anyone else taking soldering pencils and soldering guns and solder?
Ian is not taking his MFJ analyzer. We had dinner with Stan and Trish
tonight and Stan asked if he should take his analyzer. I said no
because I was under the impression that Ted was taking one and Greg has
his Autek.
Ian is taking an IC-706MKII and power supply Stan is taking an
IC-706MKIIG and power supply .... do we really need two? Ian has his
working with PSK, RTTY and CT.
Stan .... Would you consider leaving yours home? It's probably a 10
pound savings at approximately $1.50 per pound.
We do not need redundancy.
That leads to the question .... are we all sharing the total overweight
charges?

Hank:
I just had a telephone call from Ted with info he would like me to
pass along at 6:30 PM. He and Judy have an engagement that will prevent
him from coming on the air. In the event that conditions are poor or QRM
strong, I want to summarize Ted's points in this email. As of this
moment his luggage is:
Golf case with mast, tools and no antennas: 50#
Suit case: 50#
Carry-on: 45#
This does not count the dipole antennas and coax which he estimates
at 25-30#. He can cram the antennas into the golf case and raise its
weight to 75-80# or the antennas and coax could fit into a back pack if
another passenger has spare weight allowance.
Also, Ted wonders if someone else is taking an Antenna Analyzer. If
so, he won't take his.
I'm still working on my suitcase, but I don't expect it to be over
50#. Let it be known I've been wrong on all my weight estimates so far.
73, Kurt
