Subject: [TAC] Halifax to St Pierre baggage charges

I just got off the phone with Air St Pierre. Unfortunately the
restriction is 25 kG of baggage from Halifax to St Pierre.
This could be in the form of three or four suitcases totalling 25 kg
(One at 6 kG; one at 7 kg; one at 4 kg; etc). Anything over 25 kg will
be charged $2.98 per kG. We can also do a 5 kg carry on.

Since every one is in the "50 lbs per bag times two bags" mode this is
an added expense of approximately $63 Canadian for this baggage for the
Halifax to St Pierre leg (21 kg overage with 100 lbs being 46 kg).

BTW I reconfirmed my reservation today (Halifax to St Pierre). I was
sweating it when his computer was s-l-o-w giving him the info.

In 2000 I was carrying a 20x14x7" case with all my clothes and it was a
carry-on that fit into the overhead compartment in the jet from Toronto to
Halifax. However, from Halifax to St. Pierre, it had to be checked and
stowed underneath. My "carry-on" for that flight was a book to read. I was
not charged extra for my usual carry-on to go underneath.
