My Swan MX 100 has a problem with the PTO lead screw because it has been siting on the shelf without tuning or use for 10 years. I need suggestions about how to free up the PTO so the vernier will turn it.

Turning the PTO knob only causes the vernier to turn and does not turn the lead screw of the PTO. The dial does not turn and the transceiver PTO does not change frequency. My guess is that the white grease that was put on the lead screw has hardened and has the PTO basically locked up.

Do any of you you have any ideas on freeing up the lead screw so the PTO will tune and the PTO shaft will turn. I don't want to damage the lead screw, the PTO or the vernier. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks and 73, John, K5PGW
