Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for the information. That certainly explains the 
resistor. I can tell it has been there for a very long time - just was not 
original.

I'll make note of this information in the manual I have. Are the currently 
available 6DQ5 tubes of this later design?

On another note, what mic have you found good for the 240? I don't have a 
very good junk box anymore. I used to have, but I got sick a few years ago 
and sold everything that I wasn't using every day.

I've been a ham for over 40 years and used to work in a ham radio store as 
the technician. Was a great part-time job - none better. Tools are not a 
problem, those I kept.
