[Swan] SW 240 lineage questions

I am told there was more than one version of the 240. I have a couple
of them and a power supply. One has square looking bezels on the
meter and VFO and the other has more rounded bezels. It uses a 6AU6
in the VFO.
I have two manuals. Both show rounded bezels. One shows the 6AU6 for
the VFO and the other shows a 12AU6. Neither show the resistor
described below.
On the PA (6DQ5) pin 3 has a 5 watt 5 ohm ceramic resistor to ground.
It does not look original and is not on the diagram I have. What
might the reason for this modification have been?
The rig is working, but needs a real cleaning and alignment. After
that I may find the need to replace a tube or two.
I have not decided whether I'll restore the rig completely, or bring
it up to spec and allow the marks on the finish to be well earned
displays of age.
It would sure be appreciated if anyone with information/comments
about the above to post or contact me directly.
Thank you.
