Collin, All,

Not to take away from this group, but IMHO there is a better group on the
Yahoo network concerning Swan radios. Swan/Cubic made several changes to
the 250's over the years and several different schematics are out there.
The one you can download from the various different places on the net is not
necessarily the right one for your radio. I believe Stu Morrison is the
moderator or at least participates in the group on Yahoo. You can post your
radios serial number to him and he will tell you which schematic pertains to
your radio. The rights to the schematics and documentation for the swan
radios are proprietary and owned by an individual. Someone on the Yahoo
list can also point you to where you can get the correct copy for your radio
for a small fee of course. I also own a 250c and if my memory serves me
correct, I think there is at least six different versions of the schematic.
It makes it alot easier to troubleshoot a problem when you have the right
documentation in front of you. I think you will find the Yahoo list helpful
so here is the direct link to join the group.
 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Swan-Network/
You may have to join the Yahoo network in order to join the group. I was
already a member of Yahoo when the group moved to the Yahoo network a couple
of years ago from ??(don't remember).

Greg,
Very good, Thanks for the look. I am restoring the 250C and I am having
a hard time getting it to receive well. I am assuming that most of the
time right now there is little or no signals at any given time to
receive off the air and am putting a 50mhz signal into the antenna jack
at about 2uv and can almost not detect it at all. I have aligned the IF
and get a good strong signal when putting 10.9mhz modulated in at the
V8 mixer grid. I connected the frequency counter at the V8 mixer grid
and get 13.117mhz when the VFO is tuned to 50mhz. Here are some
questions:
1) Is V1 Vfo Amp a tripler? If so wonder why mine is not tripling?
2) Should I not be seeing 39.1mhz at V8 pin 1 (grid)?
3) Do you know why my schematic is different than the actual circuit
around C105A in the plate circuit of V1 and also different at the plate
circuit of V8?

I think if I can get the right frequency into the mixer from the VFO it
may help. Anything you could help with would be appreciated.
Thanks, Collin

I've fixed a couple of them.
How can I help?
