[Swan] 250C help

Swan Friends,
I am one step closer to getting my 250C to hear. I have found some 
wiring crossed up on the mode switch. Evidently the switch was changed 
at one time and wired incorrectly. If anyone on the list has a 250C and 
would look on the bottom at the mode switch (LSB, USB, AM REC) to see 
if there is a shielded two conductor cable with a red and a black wire 
soldered to the switch. That is what mine has and looks original but I 
am wondering if it is truly original? I do not understand the reason 
for using a shielded cable as opposed to using individual conductors. I 
am still looking for a correct manual for this 250C also. Any ideas?
