700CX used 8950's and they are $100 each YIKES!  I
gave $40 each back in the early 90's and got rid of
the radio! (YIKES, again).

If you can hunt up a pair of 6MJ6's, they replace the
6LQ6 and are much more rugged, but hard to find.  I
have one for my 350D whenever the 6LQ6 goes, but it is
holding it's own.  Like the manual says, don't tune
anymore than you have to!  They should last a long
time especially with a fan on them.
