I have a Swan 250 transceiver (NO POWER SUPPLY/speaker cabinet) that I
bought at a hamfest years ago and never even fired up. It appears complete,
I'd say poor to fair condition with some obvious "damp basement" corrosion
on the cad-plated steel chassis and VFO cover; front panel and cover look
OK. There are no screws in the bottom cover and the top cover screws aren't
the original black-oxide types. All tubes and shields are there. It looks
to me like someone added an Output meter sensitivity adjustment pot on the
rear panel but I didn't see any other obvious mods. No idea at all of the
condition the 6146 finals or other tubes. I would categorize it as a
"technician's special"; complete but undoubtedly needs some cleaning up and
possible repair. I don't think I have a manual but can look if the buyer
needs it. $75 AS-IS plus shipping from 06776 SW Connecticut. I have some
pictures.
Also have 3 or 4 brand new 2.2 KVA isolation transformers. These have a
120V winding on one side and a pair of 120V windings, tapped at 100V (for
Japan) and maybe 110V, on the other. They are new but in "damp basement"
condition with slight evidence of a little bit of rust where varnish didn't
completely cover the edges/ends of laminations. They weigh at least 55 lbs,
if I recall correctly, around 8 inches cube or so. They were rejected due
to the steel mounting lugs getting bent during shipping, or due to a
cracked hard plastic winding bobbin on the end; but they're quite usable
otherwise and I've straightened the mounting lugs. $50 each plus shipping
from 06776 SW Connecticut, AS-IS. Have pictures and need to find the
winding drawings. These are HEAVY sons-of-guns, great to put in the rear of
your pickup truck for winter traction. They'd also make great jack stands;
no way will these things collapse under yer 4X4 8-))))))))))))))) (I use
one for a step-down transformer from my 240V 25 amp dryer outlet to run my
120V, 25 amp MIG welder.) If you were really serious, you could strip off
one of the windings and rewind it for either really high current low
voltage, or perhaps have it rewound as a plate transformer for your 5 KW
1296 amplifier 8-)))))))
Can deliver either within reasonable distance for gas money.
Thanks,
Steve K0XP
