Put the function switch in receive. The push to talk switch will key the 
transmitter in that position. The transmit position puts it into transmit 
until you put it back in the receive position. You need to read the owners 
manual. If you don't have one you can download one from the internet. It 
doesn't take much keying to zap the finals if the bias is not set properly 
or the rig is not properly tuned. Also key it only for shot periods of time 
when tuning.
