Hi All Swan Aficionados
I have finally complete the latest (and last) revision of the Swan
Compendium. Because the manuals had to all be printed at once, the number
of copies is limited (110) - there will be no additional copies printed.
This is about the same number of Revision 2 copies which were distributed.
When available copies gets to 20 or so, a notice will be posted on the
Swan-Net requesting email confirmation prior to sending payment. As with
past revisions, the cost of assembly, printing, packaging/mailing, and a
contingency has been amortized over all copies. All Compendiums will be
shipped Media Mail (Book Rate) in a padded shipping envelope. For an idea
of document format and content, see the following web sites:

Robert Balonis
525 E. McCormick Ave.
State College, PA 16801-6616
3. Please include a clearly printed mailing label or card that I can tape to
the package.
COMPENDIUM DETAILS
I had planned to have it bound with a "perfect" binding (similar to a
paperback book) with a color cover, however cost estimates were
prohibitive - the lowest was $37+ just for printing! Previous revisions
were reproduced at a copy facility with automatic edge stapling - these
copies are printed directly for a digitally formatted file and bound with a
plastic coated metal binding. A significant benefit is that the document
lies flat (or folds in half) and the print quality, particularly of the
pictures is an order of magnitude better than previous version. For an
example of what the document looks like, please visit the following For an
listing of the Table of Contents (down to the 3rd paragraph level) and List
of Figures and Tables, please visit the following Webpage:
Rev 1 (Aug 2001) was about 100 pages and Rev 2 (June 2002) was about 150
pages. This Revision 3 is about 280 pages and dated 10 March 2004. It
retains the 8.5 by 11 inch format used in previous versions. In addition to
the inclusion of new information, changes include a bit more reorganization,
the increasing of font type, size, and line spacing to improve readability.
