Buck,

I find that placing the fan to draw out the hot air rather than blow in cool air
provides a temperature-stable environment. I do not have noticeable drift with
a 5" fan on top of the final cage of my 500cx.

In your case, I'm guessing the room fan is blowing in the receiver side of the
rig. Why not place a fan over the final cage and block the sides of the rig
from the direct path of the room fan. See if it makes a difference.
