That sounds about right.  Swan ran the sweep tubes REAL hard.  My 270B 
puts 800 to 900V on the 6LQ6, and I have 121V at the wall.  These older 
rigs were usually set up for 110 to 115V nominal, and will tend to run 
pretty hot on todays higher wall voltages.

I'd suggest a big variac to bring the line volts down to 110V.  Those 
expensive 8950's will thank you.
