[Swan] 350C problem

Hi

I have recently acquired a 350C from the estate of a SK, he was primarily a CW man and I am not sure when the rig was ever used on SSB. I was using it on SSB for a few days and found that for some reason the Carrier Balance pot went bad, since I have a 350 that I have been working on sitting in the shack I just cannibalized its pot and had the rig back on the air. The other night I went down stairs and smelt an ordor in the shack, turns out this pot went bad too. (I hate when the smoke gets let out) I am not sure what is up and since I work a lot of hours during the summer months I do not have the time to do much. So, if someone can give me an idea of what is up or if you know of someone I can have go through the rig and check and fix it let me know.
