The HF antenna could probably be anything as long as it works for their 
purposes.  While the Russians do love their cage dipoles, it could really 
be anything.

My suspicions, (and there are people on this list who are *far* more 
qualified than I to speculate) --it would need to be something that could 
handle a couple kilowatts of power, maybe a little more, and definitely 
sturdy enough to handle heavy weather.  Personally I wouldn't think the 
red and white painted tower at that site would be the antenna, because it 
seems to have other antennas mounted on it.  They would have to cease HF 
transmission to do any maintenance of the other antennas which, while 
probably not a frequent occurrance, is probably something they wouldn't 
want.

I'd be very interested to hear opinions of those here who have strong 
radio backgrounds (I certainly don't feel that I do).
