The buzzer has been offline since 8/31 with random carrier broadcasts since.
There has been a lot of pirate SW/HAM activity on the frequency today.
Including a little morse code shoutout to myself and Ary.
There's speculation on what was Tx'd by the pirates and what was genuine.
There was broadcasts of Swan Lake, followed by a synthesized male
voice counting from 1-10 in russian. followed by the typical buzzer
tone.
I also recorded a FEMALE synthesized voice counting 1-0 and 1-10 in
russian. No music or buzzer tone.
For a little bit, the buzzer seemed to have been taking requests for
songs if you posted in Global Tuners (more obvious pirate activity).
There was also a reported E10 TX on 4638kHz which bled over onto 4625
(Echo Zulu India). This may have been pirate activity as well.
Needless to say with the amount of CONFIRMED pirate activity, and the
clarity its coming through. Its safe to say that the buzzer is not
transmitting a carrier signal constantly... so it is definitely off
the air.
I cant confirm or deny the authenticity of any other broadcasts also,
due to pirate activity.
