Dear radio users

I am pleased to report that the new UKQRM e-petition is now ready to sign!

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/SaveShortwave2/

This one builds on the last one that, as you all know, we actually had a
very encouraging response to!

The UK Government has told us that PLT must comply with the EMC regulations
2006.
If it does not then it should not be in use.

As most of us now accept the current blight of PLT devices such as the
Comtrend power line adaptor, do not and could never comply.
So much so that the pro PLT lobby wants special treatment and relaxation of
the laws and regulations.

Imagine what other manufactures would say if the PLT businesses were granted
this? It would be open season right across the spectrum.

If you enjoy listening to shortwave radio, if you are a amateur or
professional user of that spectrum then we/it need your support!

Please sign this petition as soon as you can and make sure to tell others
about it.
This one runs for just six months.

We need at least the number of signatures we had last time, that's over
3500!!

This issues effects everyone who uses HF.
To our knowledge PLT uses 2-34Mhz all the time.

If you are a amateur operator then don't think that the so called notches
will protect you!

There is clear evidence of a much raised noise floor in proximity to a power
line adaptors.

Not only this, but its easy to see that if PLT with its poor and limited
notching is allowed its head then others will soon start using the notched
bands for their broadcasts.

All amateurs check shortwave broadcasts from time to time.

Sign the petition and if you have a case of PLT interference that is
preventing your radio from working as intended then you should report the
mater to Ofcom and please pass the resulting case number to UKQRM.

PLT (power line transmission)
PLA (power line adaptor)

Your hobby needs you, please don't let it down.

Please be aware that it is the stated aim of the web master at number 10 to
remove any signatory who adds anything more than a simple first and second
name.
Please do not add call signs or comment as it may very well be removed.

I have protested this but in the meantime there is nothing I can do about
it.

Regards to all

Mike
